Egg Curry with Parampara
This post is more like a product review than a recipe. All of you (who reside outside India) must have seen this product. This is an excellent product for novice cooks or people with very little time to cook. Actually, I like it because its easy and very very tasty!!! It brings home the restaurant taste, with absolutely no effort. Click here to see their entire range of products. All the products have cooking instructions on the rear side, usually all you have to do is add the mix and yogurt/water and cook/pressure cook! Its really that simple!!! The package that I have shown below is one of the older products, still available in a lot of stores. In their website you can see their new range of 100% natural, trans-fat free products!! I have even used their chicken curry mix to make veggie curries, tastes yum!!
This is my entry to ‘Semi Homemade – Indian Recipes‘ event, hosted by Rahin of ‘Lazzat’.
Eggs (hard boiled) – 3 no.
Onion – 1 small
Green chili/Serrano pepper – 2 no.
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp(optional)
Parampara Egg curry mix – 1/2 packet
Yogurt/Curd – 1/2 cup
Water – 2 cups
Salt – to taste
Coriander leaves/Cilantro – 1 tbsp
- Boil the eggs and peel them. Keep aside.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add the onions and green chilies and saute for 4-5 mins, until the onions are soft.
- Add half the contents of the parampara and add 1/2 cup water. Mix well, until the water evaporates. Now, add the yogurt and cook for about 4-5 mins, until the raw flavor of the yogurt goes away.
- Now, if required, add some water to adjust the consistency of the gravy, salt and the hard boiled eggs.(Make slits on the whites of the eggs and add them halved or whole). Cook covered for 3-4 mins and serve hot!
